So, keeping in mind the major reason for changes in my fanfic output is my concentration on profic, here goes:
|Bruce & Dick (Gen)||0||3||3||4||1||1||0|
|Clark & Bruce & Diana (Gen)||0||0||0||1||1||0||0|
|Clark & Bruce & Dick (Gen)||0||0||0||0||1||0||0|
As you can see, there was a major drop in both number of stories and stories for my major pairings. The word count was a drop, too, but when the profic is added in, probably exceeds last year’s number. I haven’t tallied my pro work because it’s in flux, but I know it’s up there. It’s approximately the same amount as my fanfic word count, which clocked in at 214,088 for 2012. Forty-five stories were written by me this year, a respectable number, considering. ;) Since 2006, I have written 504 fanfics, most of them in DC Comics fandom but there are others in that mix. Length of stories have ranged from 1,000 to up to 30,000, and that doesn’t even count the nearly half-million words I’ve written for Rainbow’s Freedom!
Clark/Bruce of DC are tied with Steve/Tony of Marvel this year for top number of stories at 8, and Bruce/Dick enjoyed a late surge with all the holiday fics to end at 6. Steve/Diana did not get a huge amount of stories but they were still important on my list, and my story of their first meeting was posted this year (The Princess And The Pilot VII: From The Sky).
The drop in Clark/Bruce was also due to my only taking fic requests once during the year (LJ Sixth Anniversary Fic Request Meme). Usually whenever I ask for requests there are a lot of Clark/Bruce prompts. :)
Marvel took over quite a bit of my writing because of The Avengers movie, and I added two new pairings: Natasha/Pepper and Clint/Coulson. I’d already written Steve/Tony from comicsverse but was glad to write them in movieverse as well.
The only Big Bang I wrote this year was the marvel_bang, The Soldier And The Scientist Vi: Sapphire Diamonds but also posted another Big Bang that I had written in 2011, but it still counted under 2012 stats: Sacrifice for the history_bigbang. It was a Mel/Johnny tale from Public Enemies and I loved every minute of writing it! :)
Bruce/Jim from Nolanverse got a boost from The Dark Knight Rises, which I was happy to receive. There’s just something sweet about the two of them. :)
What will I be writing in 2013? Well, I have a Clark/Bruce story that was slated for a Superman/Batman zine that folded, so if any of the Big Bangs that are appropriate are hosted this year, that story will be used as one of them. Hopefully smallvillebbang, superbat_bb and dcu_bang will be hosted again.
Only 11 chapters left to post of Rainbow’s Freedom! Oh, my! That will require a special post all its own when I’m done. :) It’s been a lot of fun and I’ve made a lot of friends through that series.
I also plan to start editing and typing up the remainder of my Mel/Johnny stories for the 12_stories Challenge. I have 5 posted, 6 written, and 1 to be written. I wrote the 6 back in 2011 but due to RL (including illness) and profic, never got the chance to work on those. I had a great time writing the boys and even if I’m the only one who will read them, I’ll be posting! It was one of those situations in which I was very happy writing the stories and living in their world for awhile. :)
I have to finish the prompts for my LJ Sixth Anniversary Fic Request Meme. Six have been posted, 2 are written in the first draft stage, 1 is still incomplete and 2 more need to be written.
My own Challenges will keep me busy, and if dark_fest is hosted this year, I hope to pick up a prompt and write something. Some of my best work has been for that Fest. ;)
So here’s to a productive 2013! :)
