Bangers and mash, anyone? ;)
A jolly old time was had in Merry Olde England as the New England Patriots smoked the St. Louis Rams 45-7. At first it looked as if the secondary was its old leaky self (it still is) but after the Rams scored an opening touchdown, they never saw the endzone again. Tom had another 300+-yard game and he threw two TDs to Gronk, who celebrated his first TD by imitating a Buckingham Palace Guard. It was really cute. :) Shane Vereen and Brandon Lloyd had TDs, Wes Welker and Danny Woodhead had big days, and the offense was on fire! Bill Belichick pulled Tom in the fourth quarter after the score was out-of-reach for the Rams. Back-up quarterback Ryan Mallett went in.
The NFL is pushing to base a team in London, but that will be a logistics nightmare!
The Patriots may have to stay in London for a few days due to Sandy or they might get a flight out very early tomorrow morning. Stay in England, boys! Don't want to get caught in Frankenstorm!
The Dolphins beat the Jets and the Bills are on their bye (I think). The Patriots stand on top of the division at 5-3, Miami is 4-3, the Bills are 3-4, and the Jets are 3-5. Just as it should be! ;)
Next week: the bye! The Patriots get some rest.
