I gronk Gronk! ;)

Well, now THAT was more like it! Instead of the stumblebums of the last two weeks, Tom and the boys came out firing on all cylinders!

Okay, maybe not at first, heh heh, but by the end of the first half they had the lead and then took off in the second half. Tom was sharp and firing balls to Deion Branch, Wes Welker, and Rob Gronkowski. Gronk had a monster night, and even Ochocinco made two great catches!

Andre Carter had a franchise record 4 ½ sacks in one game, and Rob Ninkovitch had a pick-6. The defense was full of guys whose names were unknown even to Pats’ fans. Five of six DBs were undrafted free agents and didn’t even have official pix or voiceovers for the intros!

It reminded me of the old story about a game in ’68, back when the Patriots were playing in Harvard’s stadium and a guy who had just been cut (Bob Gladieux) was in the stands getting a buzz on. His buddy goes for hot dogs and beer and comes back but Gladieux isn’t there. The game starts with the kick-off and Gladieux’s name is called as making the tackle. He had literally been taken out of the stands, LOL! Some of these guys playing last night probably were plucked out of the stands, too. ;) Oh, for the old days of the AFL when craziness happened on a regular basis!

The Patriots take sole possession of first place in the division at 6-3. The Jets and Bills are tied at 5-4 and the Dolphins are 2-7. Next week on Monday Night Football: home against the Kansas City Chiefs!

Didn't Tom look gorgeous last night? *happy sigh*
