Snoozer of a first half with more punts than first downs for both teams. Tom threw an INT and Stephen Gostkowski had an easy chip shot field goal and blew it wide left. Yeesh! For the first time since 2007 in the NFL, the first half was scoreless for both teams. It’s been since 2006 that the Patriots alone were scoreless.

The second half started no better. Tom threw another INT and lost the ball and it counted as an interception. The offense was in a terrible funk.

Then Kyle Arrington intercepted Eli Manning in the endzone, thank the football gods! Andre Carter was applying pressure to Manning and hence the interception. Finally a touchdown was scored! Whew!

More craziness, and Tom marched them down the field with less than two minutes remaining to score the go-ahead touchdown! Yes!!! Tom Terrific does it again! Even after a terrible game, he comes through!

Unfortunately, as has been the case since 2006, when the defense needs to hold the lead in big games, they don’t. And so they gave up the winning touchdown for the Giants.

I don’t see a Super Bowl in our future with this shoddy defense.
