BradyGirl's 2007 DCU Fic/Art Halloween Challenge

DCU* Fic/Art
Halloween Challenge

I love Halloween! Love it! :) So I decided to issue a Challenge dedicated to my favorite holiday.

Why so early? It’s my experience that sometimes these ideas need to simmer in the, ahem, cauldron for a little while. :) And, hey, while the thermometer reads 95 degrees, what better than to think of the cold, crisp days of autumn?

Edit: And now the leaves are just starting to turn, though the weather remains warm, so we could really use those thoughts about the crisp, cold days of autumn! ;)

Here is the Master List for easy reference to all the entries.

Deadline: October 31st

However, since I’m a ‘Christmas-in-July’ person, if you choose to answer this prompt after that date, I’ll certainly be thrilled to read it or gaze upon the art!  The deadline is for seasonal timeliness and for people who work better with one.

Note to Artists: I know it's difficult to incorporate all these elements into a piece of art, so if you can do at least one, that's fine, or if you decide on a general Halloween-style illo, icon, or manip, please feel free to add it!

You may start posting fics and art at any time, starting now!

For writers or artists:

  1. Any pairing (or threesome, or orgy! ;) )
  2. Any rating
  3. No. 1 suggests I’m looking for slash (I am!) but if you have a pre-slash, gen, or het idea, go for it!
  4. Any genre(s) (drama, humor, hurt/comfort, PWP, historical, angst, romance, darkfic, deathfic, etc.)
  5. Please use at least one of the following prompts in the following categories.  All prompts in each category can be combined, i.e., start your story in Salem and cut back-and-forth between that city and Gotham, or wind up in Metropolis, or use all four of the foods, whatever works for you:

  1. Apples (Candy apples acceptable, heh heh!)
  2. Candy corn
  3. Chocolate/candy
  4. Pie (Pumpkin, apple, or something else that’s your favorite!)

  6. Silver

Time Periods:

  1. Past
  2. Present
  3. Future
  4. Any combination!

I think that covers everything time-wise, eh?  ;)

Special Prompt:

  1. Create your own prompt and use it for your fiction or artwork and let us know what it is!

When you’re finished, please give me your link in this entry and link back from your journal to this entry.  Also, don't hesitate to post to any appropriate LJ comm and let them know all about us!  :)

Please enjoy!

*DCU for the purpose of this Challenge covers comicsverse, toonverse, movieverse, and Smallville.  Of course, in Smallville it’s Halloween every day!  ;)
