Continuing my late series of reviews for completist purposes, and for anyone who would care to read them! :)
Yay, Booster Gold! :)
So, Booster Gold appears!
I did find this episode a nice change-of-pace. Booster never takes himself too seriously, and he did have a point: heroes in our ‘real life’ would probably have to self-promote and even get corporate sponsors! I’ve always been a fan of the old tradition of someone designing their own costume and theme and just going out and doing their thing while holding down a day job or being independently wealthy, but when you think about it, most heroes would probably be Government agents or corporate shills. Depressing, but realistic.
Anyway, it was cool to see Cat finally come around about the Blur, and Booster admitting his shortcomings. It takes a real man (or woman) to do that, so he shouldn’t be too hard on himself. I do like that Clark got a little boost from Booster. ;)
The kid in the Blue Beetle armor showed courage, too. Jamie! Poor kid, the butt of jokes, and now he’s gonna be awesome! There’s a lot of strength in that quiet kid.
Not a fantastic episode but it did have Clark in glasses and his quiet self-confidence showed that he is almost ready to don the cape and tights. ;)
