The Patriots took care of business and beat the Jets to secure the No. 1 seed and home field advantage (HFA) throughout the playoffs. Tom has a week to rest his beautiful 40-year-old bones. :) He was rockin' the Sea Hunt look with his wetsuit under his uniform and tight-fitting cap. He wore a hat with pom-pom and the original Pat Patriot logo at his presser. :)
Tom and the offense were sharp on their first drive, scoring a touchdown, but was out-of-sync afterwards. They finally got going and the defense contributed a safety, the kicker and punter were extra-sharp, and RB Dion Lewis was outstanding yet again, racking up huge chunks of yardage rushing and receiving and scored a TD.
It was 13 degrees at the one o'clock kick-off, the coldest regular season home game in Patriots history, topped only by a playoff game against Tennessee in 2004, when it was 4 degrees at kick-off. I remember it well as my brother-in-law and I attended with hand and foot warmers and drank our beverages fast as they literally froze in less than ten minutes! Best game I ever attended! :)
Pats win and Jets lose, and the Bills look like they might trounce the Dolphins. I'll go with the 22-9 score with less than five minutes left and give you the standings:
AFC EAST DIVISION
