First, a little background:
I joined LJ in October of 2006 (first post in November), and posted my first story, Announcement I: The Ready Room, in December of 2006. It was a Clark/Bruce tale, and the remaining 3 stories for that year were of that pairing as well.
I counted each year’s stories, and broke them down by pairing, which I’ll discuss below the stats. I used the following method: simple counting, but if a multi-chapter story started in one year and ended in the next, I counted the year it began. Time And Place was posted in 2006 and ended in early 2007.
Naturally I counted a pairing if they were the focus of the story, but if they shared equal ‘screen time’ with another couple or couples, that story was also counted as theirs. In some of my multiple pairing stories, several couples could count it as their story (Strange Brew, The Jig’s Up!, and many others). Ollie/Dinah, for instance, have a number of 8 in three years, but only 1 story was written with them as the lead couple. The rest are stories they share with others. So if anyone bothered to total the pairings and the story totals, the pairings would be a higher total than the stories.
Here are the statistics, broken down by year and pairing/threesome:

Well, 2015 was not as prolific as my past LJ years, but I did manage to write 28 stories for a total word count of 81,197 for the year. My story total since 2006 is 625. I wasn’t taking word counts in the beginning, but the chart will show a bunch of stories and I’d say a high word count for each year. :)
Looks like Clex wins the top pairing spot this year with 8 stories, and Alan/Ian from Jurassic Park fandom had 5. My usual top pairings for DC were low numbers this year, but compared to past years, you can see that they have had quite a few stories in the past. It’s mostly a situation of having said pretty much most of what I have to say for these couples, though there are always occasional ideas that cross my plate.
I finally broke through a writing block on a multi-chaptered gen Hogan’s Heroes fic, The Case Of The Hammelburg Strangler, and have been steadily posting Book II of The Raven And The Nightingale, a Bruce/Dick AU, while working on Book III. It was mostly one-shots after that.
For 2016, I’m hoping to write at least a few Han/Luke fics after getting immersed in Star Wars fandom again, and continuing work on my longfics mentioned above. I have a long story that was intended for a zine but the zine never materialized. My manuscript was lost but I do know the basics of the plot and several scenes are still in my head, and I’ve decided if I go ahead with it, that the rewrite could improve it. I certainly hope I’ve improved after twenty years! :) It’s not a definite thing but one of those ideas that keeps hanging around until you finally do something about it, I think.
I predict a jumpstart for Steve/Bucky fic this year after Captain America 3: Civil War, and possibly Steve/Tony angst (gen at least for those two). I have no high hopes for Batman vs. Superman, so hope to be pleasantly surprised when that movie is finally released.
Since it’ll be 2017 before the first Wonder Woman movie is released, I’ll have to wait for inspiration on that one. In the meantime, Steve and Diana continue to inspire me in many ways. They were the subject of my dcu_bang story this year, By-The-Sea XVI: Seaside Idyll.
Will I do either the dcu_bang or marvel_bang this year? That depends on if I have an idea for either one and have gotten a headstart writing it by the time sign-ups occur in the spring. Right now I don’t think I’ll be part of either one this year but it’s still early. I did a story just over the minimum of 10,000 words last year, so maybe I can do the same this year.
Unless a new fandom comes along and grabs me, I don’t see much change in what I write this year. It’ll mostly be DC and Marvel, probably quite a bit of the latter if the Cap movie is as good as the trailer indicates, and my small fandoms that intrigue me. I might do a little more with the TV shows based on DC heroes, but right now have no plans.
I might step up a little on posting older LJ fic to AO3. Most of the stories I have left are multi-chaptered and take more time to post than one-shots, and some have languished while I keep up with new stuff. So that could be a project I may spend some time on. The Han/Luke story from 2010, Routine Mission, has attracted quite a few readers after I posted it last month! :)
So I see a lower output like last year but still interest when the mood strikes me. Fanfic relaxes me and I don’t see that changing, so there will be more stories to come! :)
