The Patriots clinched the AFC East Division, their 12th time in 14 years under Brady and Belichick and their 6th straight title. Hats and T-shirts were distributed to the players once they got in the locker room.
The first half was sketchy. The Pats scored off a special teams blocked punt (Jamie Collins is on fire!) and a defensive TD off a pick. The offense couldn't seem to get going. The defense let up a last-minute touchdown just before the half. The score was 14-13 Patriots.
Then the second half began, and it was all Pats. Gronk and Julian scored TDs and Tom ran for 17 yards! He was knocked out of bounds and will get a ribbing about that tomorrow by the team. Tom was very sharp in the second half, delivering lasers to Gronk and Julian and there was a crispness to the offense in the latter half.
Next week they travel to New York, where the Jets will either treat this like their Super Bowl or check out early with their cars running in the parking lot. We shall see! :)
Bill Belichick tied with Packers legend Curly Lambeau for most wins in a career as a coach: 229. Kicker Stephen Gostkowski passed former Pats kicker Adam Vinatieri for all-time points scored for the Patriots.
Buffalo wins over Green Bay and the Jets are playing the Titans right now.
EDIT: Jets win! They also knock themselves out of a better draft position. SOJ (Same Ol' Jets)! ;)
