A very warm day in Foxboro for November! Fifty-seven degrees at game time. Patriots went up against the No. 1 defense in the NFL and scored 34 points while holding the Lions to three field goals. The offense started out shaky with a lot of drops by the receivers (Tom was sharp), but then they got into rhythm and Julian Edelman had a great day. He made some good catches and ran a punt back for a TD, but it was called back for a penalty. Newly-resigned LeGarrett Blount ran well and last week's star Jonas Gray didn't even see the field. Gronk kept so many defenders busy that TE Tim Wright was all alone in the end zone for his touchdown. :)
Very solid game by the Pats. Detroit couldn't get its offense moving and its defense finally started giving up big plays. Next week the red-hot Patriots meet the red-hot Packers in Green Bay!
Bill Belichick is enjoying his 14th straight winning season. :)
No divisional news yet. Miami is currently playing Denver and leading and the game between Buffalo and the New York Jets will be played tomorrow. Due to seven feet of snow having been dumped on Buffalo, they couldn't get the stadium ready so the game is being played at a neutral site, Detroit. The Bills' players had to be picked up at their homes by snowmobile and driven out to buses on the highway so they could head to the airport. :)
Personal note: I invited my sister and brother-in-law over to my place and watched the game while noshing on Subway sandwiches and chips. Yummy meatball marinara sandwich with peppers and onions! :)
