The Patriots are back, baby!
Well, for this week, at least. ;) The Pats started a bit slow in the first half but managed to go into the locker room at the half leading at 10-7. Their offense really woke up in the second half and was crisp and efficient most of the time, utilizing the talents of Gronk, Julian, LaFell, and Ridley. Tom was 27 for 37, threw for 361 yards and 4 touchdowns.
The O-Line showed true grit as they lost Dan Connolly and there were still times when Tom had time to eat a sandwich back there. :)
Rookie Brian Tyms scored his first NFL touchdown. Kid's had a rough life. At one point in his earlier years, he was living out of a car. Good to see some success for him.
Sadly, we lost Jerod Mayo and Stevan Ridley to injury. It appears as if Jerod might be lost for the year again (second straight year) and not sure about Ridley. We don't have official word on either of them, but you can tell a season-ending injury sometimes. Poor Jerod! :(
The Bills were primed to win: their new owner took over a few days ago and gave an inspiring speech before the game, and the fans were all pumped to cheer on their New Bills. Same ol' Bills. ;)
The Patriots are improving, but the injuries are always a concern. Hopefully they don't take the woeful Jets too lightly this Thursday at home.
Miami and the Jets lost, too, so the division looks like this:
Short week as the NYJ come into Foxboro this Thursday!
BTW, for all those wiseasses in the media spelling Tom's doom as far as his time with the Patriots, I think he's got some more years left here. :)
