Happy Halloween!!! :)

Yay, it’s Halloween! Appropriately cold and foggy this morning. I have a sweater that’s orange-yellow-and-black with a grinning Jack O’Lanterns design that I’m wearing today. ;) I painted my nails blood-red and coated them with sparkle polish. I have my candy ready in my plastic Jack O’Lantern, though if the weather isn’t great with rain, I may get no trick-or-treaters. They have dwindled over the years, alas. Kinda like LJ.

There’s always a special something in the air on Halloween, during the day and especially at night. Maybe it’s magic. ;)

And the Red Sox won the World Series! First time since 1918 they won it on their home field. There were 15,000 fans in 1918 to watch that historic championship (a heckuva lot more last night!), mainly because of the Great Influenza Epidemic and the warning for people not to gather in crowds because of contagion. The Sox won their Series in 2004 and 2007 away.

Big Papi was walked most of the night. The Cardinals finally woke up and stopped pitching to him. There were other heroes, guys like Shane Victorino and Steven Drew knocking in the runs. You know something special was happening when Jacoby Ellsbury was able to wiggle out of a rundown and get back to first base! Lackey and Tazawa and Workman and Koji were fantastic on the mound.

I wish my parents and grandparents had been able to see at least one World Series in their lifetimes, but if there’s a Heaven, they’re smiling down from it today.

Woot! What a great win for the Sox. I'm glad the other batters made the Cardinals pay for walking Ortiz - I hate it when the best player gets taken out of the game like that.

I'm wondering how many kids will be trick or treating tonight since its currently raining here and utterly miserable. The brave ones will get plenty from me!

Fantastic win! :) I wanted to see Big Papi hit, too, but the Cards finally learned their lesson. ;)

It's foggy and drizzly and pretty perfect for Halloween, LOL!

I wonder if LJ has been attacked by hackers today? I've had trouble all day accessing it.

Your nails sound great! Happy Halloween! I hear you on lj and the trick or treaters. I got a bag of candy but not one trick or treater here. It's storming, though, so maybe that's why :)

My nails are perfect! ;)

Rainy weather here so maybe that's why no little ones. :( Honestly, I'm so glad I was a kid years ago. Much more fun. Now nobody seems to do anything that's not connected to a damned electronic gizmo.

I hope you had a good Halloween! That's great news about the Red Sox. We heard about it last night too, even though we don't pay much attention to baseball. It's amazing that it's been so long since they were able to celebrate at home, which makes it even more special. I can imagine that people are still celebrating. :)

Halloween was fun! :)

It's very rare for a Fenway clincher in the World Series. And you're right, people are still celebrating! ;) And will again tomorrow with the parade. The duck boats are ready to go! :)
