Well, this was a Jekyll-and-Hyde game all the way! In the first half, the Patriots looked dismal and the Dolphins looked as if they could steal a win on the road. It was 17-3 at the half and we lost Sea Bass (Sebastian Vollmer), one of our veteran offensive linemen. The microphones picked up his screams as he fell. It looks like a torn ACL, and if that’s so, he’s gone for the year like Vince and Jerod. He was carted off. :(
The first drive was stalled in the second half and it looked like more of the same, but then the Pats finally woke up. They scored 24 unanswered points after the Dolphins’ rookie kicker shanked one off the right goalpost for no points. The Pats also blocked a field goal, thanks to Chandler Jones, and Marquise Hill made a great interception after it was tipped to him by Devin McCourty. Six sacks made for an ineffective Miama offense. The Pats ran the ball well with LeGarrett Blount standing out and Gronk’s circus catch was nullified by a holding penalty. Rob Ninkovich caused a fumble and scooped up the ball and ran it in for defensive touchdown. Tom ran for a first down! :) He's not known as a speedster, that's for sure, but when he sees an opening, he takes it. ;) He kept shaking his hand and keeping it as warm as he could. It’s swollen and that could mean trouble, but let’s hope not.
Pats won, everybody else in the division lost. :)
Tom's press conference look was low-key: black jacket and shirt. No white cardigan this week! ;) He might be growing a beard to support the Red Sox, LOL!
Next week, the Steelers come into Gillette Stadium!
Red Sox lost last night, 5-4, on a questionable call in the ninth inning. What's going on with these officials? They are down 2-1 in the Series.
