I wasn't on-line much yesterday due to all the football goodies! :) Boy, the Patriots have a LOT of work to do. They were lucky to win that game yesterday. There were more turnovers by them than you could find in a bakery, for cryin' out loud! The rookies looked like rookies and Tom goofed up, too. The team was NOT happy after the game because while they started and finished strong, they stank it up in the middle. Anyway, thankfully it's only Week 1 but a very short turnaround as the Jets come in this Thursday to Gillette.
I miss Wes Welker. The Pats screwed up letting him go. >:(
It was a tough game that was won with 5 seconds left. The Bills aren't that good a team so let's hope the Pats get into the groove before they meet the iron of their schedule. Though the Bills' fans can be happy that their rookie quarterback, E.J. Manuel, looked pretty good out there in his first NFL game in earnest.
Tom threw 2 TDs, both to Julian Edelman, and was charged with an interception after rookie Zach Sudfeld goofed up. The rookies seemed to lose their footing a lot and second-year vet Stevan Ridley was benched after a costly fumble. I just heard over the radio that our second-best running back who took up the slack yesterday, Shane Vereen (yes, related to Ben! ;) ), broke a bone in his hand and will be out for at least two weeks after today's surgery.
The Jets won (a gift by a dumb Tampa Bay DB) and so did the Dolphins, so the division looks like this:
New England 1-0
Next week: the New York Jets come to town (this Thursday! Yikes!).
